Vallee Blanche - Classic ski descent - 18.02.09
Great views and great snow all the way to chamonix, but a bit cold and windy on the ridge. Plus a photo showing the uphill which may put you off. I was told the website description did not mention the uphill. I must of forgotten to mention that!
Andermatt to Engleberg
This is a remote and adventurous ski tour from Andermatt to Engleberg in Switzerland. We were turned back by the weather on the last day so did not make our final destination. We descended to Meiringen which is where we concluded the ski tour. This is a fantastic tour through some very remote terrain.
This collection was taken in the first week in May 2005. The aim was to climb Mt.Blanc but due to bad weather high up we changed plans and ascents of Aig du Toule, Mt.Blanc du Tacul, Petite aig Verte, Mont Dolent and an ascent of the Glacier du Milieu.
The West Oberland ski tour is a real gem and has turned out to be many peoples favourite. It starts from the
Col
du Pillon / Diablerets ski area (just to the east of Lac Leman) and over 5 days zig zags its way over the chain of peaks to Kandersteg. On this tour we climbed the following peaks: Les Diablerets, Arpelistock, Wildhorn, Schnidehorn, Weisshorn, Wildstrubel and on the final day the Roter Tot before we ski to Kandersteg. A 5 star ski tour!
The images are of a 6 day Bernese Oberland tour starting from Grindelwald - Switzerland. We stayed in mountain huts throughout the tour and had mixed weather along the route. We managed to climb 4 peaks along the way before the descent to Munster.
The shots are of a off piste week in February 2004. We used lifts to access all of the runs except where we are obviously walking. The areas we visited were Grands Montets, Aig du Midi - Vallee Blanche, Le Tour, St Gervais and Fegere, all of these area can give fantastic off piste skiing.
A tailor made week ski day tours for Sue and Annabel in Chamonix and the surrounding area. Peaks in the images Croise Baulet 2296m. Pointe Noire de Pormanaz 2307m. and Mont Lachat 2115m
The shots are taken on a glacier descent onto the Argentiere Glacier and a descent from the top of the Grand Montets down to Chamonix via Le Pas de Chevre
