The High Level Route is one of the most famous high level treks in the whole of the alps. You will see browsing through this photo collection the stunning scenery encountered along the way. This classic journey will start from Chamonix Mt.Blanc in France and travelling through very varied terrain arrives in Zermatt Switzerland and the Matterhorn . This trip is possible for a reasonably fit person, all skills training is done in advance or on route. A fair amount of the route is on glaciated terrain so can be fairly rough underfoot. Crampons, harness and ice axe will be used. We alps run this trip in winter on skis.
