Day 1 - We started the week with a training day on the Mer de Glace. Montenvers is a very popular viewpoint for tourists and has a couple of fantastic walks that start from here.

We left the Cosmiques hut at 01.30am and made our attempr on Mt>blanc however we were turned round in 90kmph Winds on Mt. Maudit however we managed an ascent of Mt. Blanc du Tacul 4248m.

(Summit reached 6.30 p.m., 8 August 1786)Paccard made 3 attempts on the summit by the Gouter route: in 1775 with Thomas Blaikie, in 1783 with Bourrit and in 1784 with 2 guides.
