Tailor Made Mountain Guiding

If you want to do something on your own in the mountains or with your friends we can put together an exciting program in the mountains for you.

If you are looking for something special like a birthday treat or wish to make a group booking then we can offer the opportunity of a Tailor Made holiday or course.

Pricing Guidelines

The normal way of arranging payment for "tailor made guiding" is to pay a deposit at the time of booking and the guiding fee minimum of 8 weeks ahead of the start date and pay the guides expenses directly as and when they occur.

Guides Fees for 2010 / 2011

1 to 6 people the guiding fee is £315 per guide per day.

Mt.Blanc Ratio 1:2 is £350 per day and the Matterhorn and Eiger Ratio 1:1 guided days are £360 per day. The guiding fee for working in other areas is £335 per day regardless of group size (max 6), We reserve the right to make a charge for travel days, if necessary

Guides expenses

On top of the guide’s fees you will have to pay the guides expenses that are directly connected to the guided experience if this has not been included in the original quote.

Accommodation

If the guide is away from their normal valley base (Chamonix-France), you will have to pay for their accommodation in hotels and or huts including evening meal and breakfast for the duration of the engagement, this cost will vary depending on the accommodation chosen. As a guideline mountain huts are about £40 per night for half board and hotels will vary depending on resort and the time of year.

Guides Ski Lift

The price of cable cars can vary in price enormously, but most of the time the fee for guides uplift is free or 25% to 50% of the normal uplift fee. Car mileage charged at 19p per Km if you use the guide’s car.

Travel to and from Guiding Destination.

This is charged at cost and will vary depending on venue.

Preparation Time

A charge might be made for planning and preparation if the requested program is complex in design.

For guides working in the Chamonix valley there are no additional expenses other than hut nights. We can quote you a for guides fee only. If you require we can give you an estimate or quote for the guide’s expenses for your trip.
